We Believe in Entrepreneurs
We departed our corporate jobs in 2018 to embark on the journey of entrepreneurship. With enthusiasm, we began a self-funded, partnered search focused on acquiring a resilient small business in Texas to steward and grow. After five months of searching, we closed on our business, American Patrols, and continue to operate it today. In the first four years of ownership, the Company's most important metrics have increased by 5x.
Entrepreneurship has been everything we expected and more...and now we want to enable others achieve a similar dream.
We partner with Searchers in tackling the learning curve by providing advice on the best practices and serving in the investment vetting process. Having been through this ourselves, and having invested in several search deals, we understand the challenges, stress and rewards of searching for a business to acquire. We remain engaged post-close, occasionally as Board Members, helping newly-minted owners avoid pitfalls and prioritize their greatest opportunities.
We look for opportunities to invest in self-funded and traditional search deals. Let's be honest, there's a lot of capital out there, and a lot of groups looking to partner with you. They vary in degrees of involvement in your process.
Our fundamental belief is that effective business leaders don't need someone to hold their hand on a daily basis. They can, however, use a little perspective along the journey, especially at critical junctures, and should be eager to learn from others. At the end of the day, we believe that the entrepreneur should keep the lion's share of the upside. See below for an example of sample of current investments.

Travis Reese
PARTNER
Travis is the son of small business owners and a four year Veteran of the US Army where he served as a Scout Platoon Leader and Executive Officer with a combat deployment to Iraq in 2010-11.
After the military, Travis led a team of consultants in the Emerging Services division of a healthcare technology company.
Travis graduated with honors from the Dwight Look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University, was the
Commander of Rudder's Rangers in the Corps of Cadets, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School where he focused his studies on the management of smaller firms.
He serves as the President of American Patrols, and lives in Austin with his wife and two children. They enjoy volunteering at their church, attending CrossFit classes, and visiting the river with their dog.
PARTNER
Aaron is the son of a small business owner and nine year U.S. Air Force veteran where he served as a pilot and Flight Commander. He flew combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he commanded a 6-person C-130 crew. Additionally, he taught and managed pilot training on the Air Force’s heavy aircraft trainer, the T-1.
He is a 2005 graduate of Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, where he was the Deputy Corps Commander. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
At business school, he focused on the management of small and medium sized businesses. After graduation, he led a real estate investment company in San Antonio.
Aaron serves as the CEO of American Patrols, and is married with three children. He enjoys riding his road bike and serving at his church.
